The Open Door Center Lisbon Program Center has provded residential and day support services for people with disabilities since 2007. The Program offers residential services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year in apartment settings.
The Program strives to meet the safety and health needs of the individual through the expansion of social and community services. These include but are not limited to psychological, recreational, nutritional, and training in adult living skills so the individual can maintain their own living arrangement. The purpose of all services inlcuding day supports and vocational is to foster independence and promote opportunities for growth.
Day Supports and Vocational Services are provided in a supervised working environment with emphasis in skill development. These skills include communication, self-awareness, physical and emotional development through prevocational training, on-the-job training, appropriate work behaviors, and competitive employment.
The Open Door Center programs are founded on the idea that persons with disabilities have the potential for life-long growth and development through participation in patterns and conditions of everyday life that are the norms and patterns of the mainstream of society.
